General Manager at First National Bank, Lebanon

Najib Semaan is a seasoned banker with more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. He has been appointed General Manager at First National Bank s.a.l. in June 2012. He directly supervises the business line area which includes Global Markets, Branch Management, Marketing and the Business Development including Corporate, Retail and SME. In addition to his role as Chair of the ALCO committee, Mr. Semaan is a member of the bank’s operating and the executive committees. Prior to joining FNB S.A.L. Mr. Semaan occupied the position of Assistant General Manager- Head of Global Markets Division, at Bank of Beirut s.a.l., a position he has held since 1988. He was responsible for the Treasury, Capital Markets, Foreign Exchange and International Division at the Bank. Mr. Semaan was a member of the ALCO Committee and responsible for the implementation of the Board of Directors growth-oriented strategy through balancing between the booking of profitable Assets and the quality of those Assets. Prior to being named Assistant General Manager- Head of Global Markets Division, at Bank of Beirut s.a.l., Mr. Semaan held a number of key leadership positions throughout his career in the banking industry providing him with perspective and knowledge on the operations and issues faced in most of the banking divisions including Trade Finance, Retail Credit, Audit, Marketing and Treasury. Mr. Semaan holds a Business Administration Degree in Banking Studies and earned a Diploma from the Saint Joseph University, Lebanon. He attended several international seminars including INSEAD business school, workshops and congresses worldwide.
