MS. SHON ABEGAZ (USA)

Ms. Shon Abegaz is the Program Manager, Forum Coordinator, and Chair of the Executive Committee for Just Governance for Human Security, based in Caux, Switzerland. The annual international forum attracts nearly 300 individuals to address concerns of the Six Pillars of Human Security.  In Geneva, Lucern and Caux, CAUX-Initiatives of Change is an independent officially recognized Swiss foundation. It works to promote peace, prevent conflicts, build trust, and encourage intercultural dialogue and ethical conduct in business. Her contribution to the Caux Forum has resulted in a wider reach to peacebuilders the world over as well as a revised vision and mission specifically focused on the UN SDGs.  She is a member of several civic organizations, including Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Art Institute of Chicago, WorldChicago, and International Women Associates (IWA) where she served as a Board Member as well as several committees. As an Event Organizer and Project Manager, her focus is on peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, human security, and SDGs.
